After a quiet summer release-wise we now have three albums inbound in the same number of weeks. First up we have an official release of “Life is Short” by Broken Arm. We go back quite a way with Broken Arm, back to our days in Leeds, and are thrilled to finally bring their debut LP to the fore. This record is a split release with our buds Gringo in Nottingham and is released on Vinyl only in an edition of 300 of Clear, Heavyweight vinyl.
Our second September release is the debut album by Plaids, also of Nottingham. We released a 7” single and cassette featuring Plaids last year and hatched plans to put together their LP whilst we drove around the mainland in the summer of the same year. The band continue their penchant for numbered tracks over names and the record comes housed in celestial artwork designed by Kyle McPartlin. You can listen to Twenty Nine below from the LP and the whole album will be available to stream and pre-order this time next week.
Finally, we have another exciting Irish release to announce. We have teamed up with Dublin based noise rockers Hands Up Who Wants to Die to release their second album “Vega in the Lyre”. Hands Up will be playing two release gigs, firstly in Cork with Ten Past Seven in the Printshop on Friday Sept 26th and then Saturday 27th in Dublin at Block T with Katie Kim and Turning Down Sex, with the record being available on both nights. There is a video for the track “Dreft” which premiered on The Thin Air this afternoon
and is directed by Steve Sissou.
